Ha! Getting old has it’s highs and lows. It is something I do not look forward to because of the loss of skin elasticity, control over how your body functions, and the fact that we will probably become more cuckoo and senile then we already are…okay we aren’t that bad right now, but to make my point. Moving on. As we grow old, we are able to continue to experience new things and new parts of this so called life we are in for just a short amount of time. We will find a thousand new outfits to match and go places in And we will be able to one day again sit and enjoy the porch, on a porch swing that is not a desk chair that we both are currently sitting on while we talk at our jobs, with our families by our side…taking sips of tea…maybe some with bubbles! Crazy to think about how enjoyable that will be, but how much fun the time leading up to then will be if we embrace the life God has given us and experience it to the full with his love, joy, grace and peace.

Okay. So i just went from hyper joking with you on G-chat Whitney about the gross outcomes of life experiences and growing old, and it just turned into sentimental seriousness…..but to continue to my lighter note. Here is what someone said we would look like as an older adult. They were not hesitant to change my look, however when it came to yours they said you wouldn’t change much…haha lucky.

just wanted to say hello to you up there on cloud 9 and tell you a funny story…

chris went into a flower shop a few weeks ago to wash their windows… when he walked in the shop owner’s eyes got big and she got visibly excited to see him… he assumed it was because she recognized him from his former life as a window washer… she then asked if he was ken knight… who was reportedly lost on the appalachian trail for over a week and recently discovered in our area

perhaps that is why chris wanted to go ahead an get a haircut that weekend…

did i already tell you about this? i cannot remember…

So… months ago ansley set up this blog for us to share our stories and photos… we just never got around to actually getting it off the ground… I actually might have forgotten that it even existed (oops!)…

But if anyone can light a fire under my behind it is my sister – so here is the poignant and thought-provoking first entry…

Because you can’t get enough of us in person

We believe this to be the best subtitle / explanation piece for our blog for two reasons:

We are relational people and would obviously prefer to be sitting in our living room, at our kitchen table, or on our front porch with a cup of tea and a few friends: talking, teasing, laughing, and sharing our latest project (damn crafty baxters!)… but since we cannot be everywhere at once, we inevitably cannot always spend such time and share every moment with every person we hold dear and figure that this way we can at least share some nuggets in between phone and real live conversations.

We really do think highly of ourselves… okay just kidding – we really do not so much of ourselves but we certainly think highly of each other. As we have crossed the threshold into adulthood, obviously ansley is still crossing said threshold – lucky, our times together are fewer and further apart which means that we are going to use every means of communication possible to be able to share with each other – so I guess what I am saying is that this blog is our ‘in the meantime’ between skype, the phone, and the living room or wherever else in this country we reunite.

So we invite you to join us… we cannot say exactly what for because we do not know yet… we hope to encourage each other and the reader with writing or our latest artistic endeavors… just think of it as listening in on one of our conversations… joining us for cyber tea or for a cupcake… and we will see where this path leads.
